I don't drive, so pretty clueless about cars; my 6 month deceased dad's old car is on the drive and people are asking to buy it so I decide to clean it and discover the battery is flat, put a charger on it for a bit (after looking up online how to do that) then come to try starting again and the ignition is stuck just like this. I am thinking the imobiliser/fob has a fault, so expecting to have to go to a dealer to get new fob. Thought I would google it though. As I was cleaning the interior I remember moving the wheel and the lock clicking in like you show. Thanks - saved me looking like an idiot!

How deep is the loft? 3 feet?
It's about 3 feet deep, yep. I did padding and carpet up there plus that ledge. Electrical is great for up there too.
